PPWSZ PODHALE NOWY TARG - THE ONLY COLLEGIATE HOCKEY TEAM IN POLAND
The College Hockey Team (UDH) is an innovative educational and sport project in Poland. Its aim is to make it possible for the hockey players to develop and continue their sport career and education without a necessity to give up on their passion for sport.
The College Hockey Team came into being as a result of an agreement between the Podhale State College of Applied Sciences in Nowy Targ (PPWSZ) and the club MMKS Podhale Nowy Targ on 29th Aug. 2014. A purpose of the agreement has been to promote recreation and sport among the college students and hockey as a traditional sport in the Podhale region in particular. The College Hockey Team uses the name PPWSZ Podhale Nowy Targ.
On 6th Sept. 2015 in the Hall of Traditition of the Sport Club Podhale in Nowy Targ an agreement was signed by the Podhale State College of Applied Sciences in Nowy Targ and the European University Hockey Association (EUHA).
The agreement has enabled the PPWSZ Podhale Nowy Targ College Hockey Team to take part in international tournaments organized by the European University Hockey League (EUHL).
